Role Summary
Lead technical sourcing, commercial development, and industrialization of Rivian In-house Manufacturing Supply Chain, increasing internal manufacturing capabilities through smart, effective capex strategy creation and execution.
As a Lead Global Supply Manager, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the awarding of new business, developing strong supplier relationships, collaborating with legal and working side by side with our engineering counterparts to push the envelope of our technical requirements. You will also take the lead in making sure Rivian can meet its cost targets, and suppliers deliver to our aggressive timelines.
This role reports to Direct of Global Supply Management within the Capital Equipment Supply Chain group. This position will be based out of either our Atlanta (Social Circle), Georgia or Plymouth, Michigan based offices.
Responsibilities
Managing industrial automation/equipment supplier development and strategic relationships
Identify technologies, suppliers, assess capabilities, and create sourcing plans with Rivian stakeholders
Build and maintain unique understanding of supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps
Lead strategic sourcing events, supplier interfacing, as well as dispute resolutions of complex manufacturing issues
Steer contractual negotiations with suppliers executing Purchase Agreements and Statement of Works
Support in timely and efficient Capex design, execution, and life cycle sustaining of new factories and equipment projects with manufacturing engineering partners and key cross-functional teams
Drive cost and commercial value negotiations with detailed data and specific content-based analysis
Manage supplier and tiered supplier performance using first principles approach and key performance metrics
Monitor capex spend forecast (totals and timing) and risk with Rivian Finance team, including internal guidance to improve
Work closely alongside Program Management to support program requirements, ensure adherence to build performance milestones and track progress
Communicate directly with senior leadership team on key strategic supplier and technology-based decisions
Create should-cost models to build program budgets with cross-functional teams
Drive commercial and business decisions with leadership, including establishing technology investment roadmaps
Expand and support planning of Rivian's global CapEx supplier footprint.
Qualifications
Bachelor's and/or Advanced degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business.
5-8 years of technical sourcing, capital project procurement experience or similar
Managed commercial relationships in an Automotive, Electronics or a similar high-volume manufacturing business.
Strong understanding of the technology and supplier landscape in automotive manufacturing and industrialization.
Analytical skills, technical literacy, and attention to detail required to solve complex cross-functional issues.
Good interpersonal and communications skills, high level of integrity and emotional IQ.
Experience working and managing projects globally, and flexibility to travel.
Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in multiple languages a bonus
Pay Disclosure
The salary range for this role is $125,800 - $157,200 for Atlanta, Georgia and Plymouth, Michigan based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
