Our Healthcare partner in Jackson needs full-time Medical Assistants to add to their team!
1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Monday – Friday
Starting wage is $21.54/hour
Full-time, temporary to permanent positions in Jackson, MI.
Position Summary: Medical Assistants (MAs) are assigned to a Patient Care Team that is committed to “Comprehensive Team-Based Care” to meet the needs of our patients and our community. The MA is expected to work in a team-based environment where the approach is a whole-person care approach that engages the patient in their health care and requires all team members to be effective and supportive communicators. A high degree of integration and collaboration is required to meet the varying and changing needs of our patients.
You must have received an MA program certificate of completion AND be board-certified.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use different & integrated computer applications.
- Complete pre-charting checklist to prepare for patient arrival.
- Prepares patients for examinations & treatments by completing rooming procedures such as medical history, vital signs, Point of Care Testing, and reviewing medical record.
- Set up rooms with equipment & supplies for procedures.
- Explain processes & tests to patients.
- Complete provider orders at time of visit or in follow up. Such as injections, EKG, BP monitoring.
- Complete forms & EMR “In-Basket” messages in a timely manner.
- Process prescription requests by provider or patient.
- Assist provider during procedures & chaperone as needed.
- Label & process tests & specimens for outside testing agencies.
- Cleans/sterilizes equipment & instrument as needed.
Experience Required:
- Graduate of a formal medical assisting or practical nursing training program.
- Certification (CMA) or Registration (RMA) or Licensure (LPN) preferred.
- Previous MA experience

Background Requirements: Clean, misdemeanors allowed.
Diploma/GED Required: Yes
Certification Required: Need copy of program certificate of completion, and MA certification
