ASSISTANT TRACK COACH - POLE VAULT

Job Summary:
Responsible for assisting with the high school track and field program at Portage Northern High School.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the Portage Northern Track and Field team competing in the SMAC Conference and MHSAA tournament play.
- Assist PPS facilities department with the maintenance of the stadium facility
- Help maintain program inventory and work with Athletic Director on program budget
- Work closely with the head track and field coach.

Qualifications
- Must have strong understanding in coaching pole vault
- Must be able to plan and implement workouts aligned with team philosophy
- Strong background in pole vault training
- Must be able to collaborate with other coaches
- Must be knowledgeable in track and field
- Prior coaching or competitive experience
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to manage and motivate high school athletes.
- Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and mentorship to student- athletes
- Ability to understand and follow policies (PNHS, PPS, MHSAA)
- Must undergo a background check and fingerprinting
