Overview:
A managerial position in a specific project and shares responsibility for project successes. Recognized ability to impact revenue and growth. Manages the firm's resources (people, processes and tools) and assignments with proficiency, fluency and aptitude. Teaches and mentors staff and effectively embodies and expresses the firm's values and mission.
Responsibilities:
Designs and may lead research strategies to address client requirements
Leads multi-disciplined teams and large complex assignments
Ensures delivery of high-quality final documents
Oversees and is accountable to the work plan, budget and schedule, providing primary interface with the client and overseeing project administration
Evaluates the market and economic feasibility of mixed-use developments, master-planned communities hotels, coastal and mountain resorts, visitor attractions, sports venues, entertainment and/or leisure schemes, and healthcare organizations
Acts as a primary client relationship for respective project, building and strengthening connections through a comprehensive understanding of their project mission, goals, policies, needs and progress
Manages the execution and delivery of implementation documents through all phases of a project scope and sharing/harvesting lessons learned and project impact
Coordinates project team interaction both internally and all other project participants
Integrates HKS expertise and innovation in all projects, while actively seeking opportunities to incorporate HKS best practices, sustainable design solutions, subject matter expertise and resources strategically and efficiently for the client, user and community
Exercises skills of persuasion and negotiation on critical issues through the scope of the project
Holds project team responsible for deliverables on HKS standards, best practices and quality expectations
Resolves conflict effectively and encourages a healthy team environment
Seeks leadership opportunities by providing direction and feedback to and collaborating with team leaders
Collaborates in and may be responsible for delivering a project on defined budget requirements
Applies skills to minimize risks, maximize value and seeks means to improve efficiencies and reduce costs
Travel will be required
Qualifications:
Accredited advanced-level degree (masters or higher) in Architecture, Business, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Healthcare or related field
Typically with 12+ years of experience in the respective sector setting; experience within a respected consultancy firm preferred
Proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Visio
Experience in simulation tools preferred
Experience in working with architects preferred
Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma preferred
Advanced competency in relevant technical economic, financial and real estate, and operational analysis
Familiarity in the functionality of Vision
Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines
Experience in logistics management including connecting people and resources to the right place at the right time
Proven track record in business development and successful project management
Strong presentation skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
Ability to manage client relationships including understanding client expectations and invoice, collections and contract management
Ability to manage team with diplomatic and collaborative leadership style which puts value on relationships and collaboration, both internal and external
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing to various audiences, including senior level executives both internally and externally
Ability to problem solve and apply innovative solutions
Ability to collaborate and encourage collaboration in a team environment
Ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality
