We are seeking a responsible, observant, and caring School Bus Monitor to help ensure the safety and well-being of students during transportation to and from school. This role supports the bus driver in maintaining a safe, orderly environment and provides assistance to students, including those with special needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and is committed to promoting a secure and respectful atmosphere on the bus.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist students with safely boarding and exiting the bus
- Help students find and remain in their assigned seats
- Maintain order and enforce safety rules during transit
- Monitor and support students with special needs or additional assistance requirements
- Report incidents or concerns to the bus driver or transportation supervisor
- Assist with pre-trip and post-trip inspections as needed
- Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff
- Keep the bus clean and organized
- Attend required training sessions and staff meetings
- Utilize the METS Drives platform as directed
- Represent METS in a professional and respectful manner
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
