Participate in the specification, design, and performance verification of optical sub-systems. Design, model, and analyze complex optical systems to meet requirements within specified physical limits of precision optical instruments using software tools including sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software (Zemax, CODEV, and LightTools). Conduct stray-light analysis, polarization calculations, scatter modeling, physical-optics modeling (including diffraction, interference and scattering), and Fourier analysis. Design and/or specify high-precision optical components and modules, including lasers, LEDs, optical fibers, cameras, detectors, lens systems and acousto-optical devices. Facilitate in prototype build, alignment, optimization, and performance verification of optical systems. Troubleshoot and analyze sophisticated optical modules & systems. Support teams and work in multi-functional teams across product divisions within KLA. Collaborate with vendors to jointly develop high-precision components. Guide the preparation of documentation of optical systems. Salary range: $117,875 - $156,200 per year.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
