The Position
Under the direction of the Camp Director, the Camp Counselor is responsible for high quality lessons, participant engagement and safety. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland Community Center.
Major Job Responsibilities
? Lead a variety of activities, including: Singing, sports, games, nature, crafts & swimming.
? Account for all assigned campers at all times.
? Follow the daily schedule.
? Maintain discipline and safety.
? Be positive, demonstrate enthusiasm and show engagement with campers at all times.
? Keep the Camp Director or Camp Lead informed of all special problems and needs.
Qualification Requirements
? Minimum age of 18 years or older.
? CPR/First Aid/AED; preferred but not required.
? Excellent people skills; ability to work with a wide variety of personalities.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills.
? One year of college; preferred but not required.
? Must be available for paid, pre-season training at the end of May.
Physical Requirements
? Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
? Bending, twisting, and reaching; required.
? Ability to continuously physically engage at a child’s level.
Salary
Hourly wage of $13.73 - $14.00per hour
Schedule
Monday – Friday: 7am to 6pm; up to 40 hrs./wk. (depending on availability)
