Position: Shipping and Receiving/Truck Driver (Interim)
Department: Maintenance
Reports to: Maintenance Leader
Position Description: Shipping and Receiving/Truck Driver for a fast growing, fast paced tool and die
facility
Position Priorities:
? Shipping and Receiving – Loading and unloading trucks and preparing loads
? Pick-up and delivery of various items
? Production run
? Minor building, machine and shop maintenance
? Vehicle checklist and minor maintenance
? Other duties as needed
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities may not include additional tasks to be assigned on a daily basis.
? Truck Driving Responsibilities
o Use company vehicles to facilitate delivery and pick up of material, dies, supplies, product,
etc.
o Use safe practices in all phases of driving, loading and unloading
o Obey all road and highway laws
o Provide outstanding customer service during delivery and pick up operations
o Maintain all required certification required under OSHA and DOT
? Shipping and Receiving
o Preparing dies and checking fixtures for shipping – ensuring that all items shipping are on
the shipper.
o Preparing parts for shipping, and other items as needed
o Banding and un-banding coils
o Receive all incoming material. All items received must be stamped received and checked in
from the shipper and turned into purchasing department.
? Production
o Assist production run team when needed
? Building and Shop Maintenance
o Minor cleaning and maintenance to shop, building, machinery and equipment
? Vehicle Maintenance
o Daily maintenance and checklist
? Communication
o Clearly able to communicate with other employees, leaders and supervisors in a clear
manner.

o Be able to prioritize all requirements on a daily and weekly basis.
o Hold yourself and your team accountable for everything they do everyday.
o Work within the Quality System-including internal audits, corrective action, implementing
changes and follow-up to the quality system. Must be able to identify and articulate non-
compliance with standards and procedures.
o Understand and respond to internal and external customer requests, both verbal and
written.
o Handle all changes and problems related to assignments.

Education and Experience:
? High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related work experience or any equivalent
combination of education, experience, and training that provides the knowledge, skill and abilities
required to be successful in performing the duties of this position
? Ability to obtain and maintain a Chauffer’s License
? Ability to obtain a CDL license if needed

? Company Vehicles
• Have the ability to use judgment and initiative in selecting the most effective work methods/tools to
determine a proper course of action to achieve the best possible result. Answers to problems may
not always be readily available or apparent, requiring searching out examples or historical practice.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; Business English and grammar sufficient
to write and edit business material
• Background in tool and die industry a plus.
Supervision:
? This position works under the direction of the Maintenance Leader and has no supervisory
responsibilities
Physical Demands:
• Physical effort required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required
to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling,
stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move
items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Personal Protective Equipment:
• Safety Glasses required on the shop floor
? PPE required for all operations that require safe practices (example: Crane hard hat)
Work Environment:
• Work performed in manufacturing plants and outdoor environment in all kinds of weather
situations
• Travel required
