Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Materials Supervisor in Roseville, MI to lead a team of material handlers and ensure efficient material flow to support production schedules while maintaining accurate inventory levels. This role plays a critical part in operational success by coordinating daily material activities, enforcing safety standards, and driving continuous improvement in material handling and inventory control processes.
*This is a fulltime, contract position with the opportunity for direct hire after 6 months based on performance.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of material handlers
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to production lines
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and audits
- Monitor material flow and implement strategies to reduce shortages and excess inventory
- Enforce safety standards and company policies in all material handling operations
- Collaborate with the Materials Manager and cross-functional teams to resolve material-related issues
- Train, coach, and develop team members to improve efficiency and performance
- Utilize ERP systems to track material movement and maintain data integrity
- Drive process improvements related to material handling and inventory control
What We’re Looking For
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field (preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in materials management or inventory control (automotive manufacturing experience preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus
