Job Summary
The Panel Wire Technician is responsible for wiring, assembling, and testing electrical control panels used in automated machinery and industrial systems. This role focuses on point-to-point wiring of control panels that support PLCs, HMIs, robots, drives, sensors, and safety systems. The technician works from electrical schematics and layout drawings to ensure panels are built to quality, safety, and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities

Wire industrial control panels according to electrical schematics and panel layouts

Install and wire components including:

PLCs, I/O modules, HMIs

VFDs and servo drives
-
Relays, contactors, power supplies

Safety components (E-stops, safety relays, light curtains)

Perform point-to-point wiring, terminations, and labeling
-
Route, bundle, and dress wires neatly per industry standards

Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires using proper tools

Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs

Perform continuity checks and basic electrical testing

Troubleshoot wiring issues and correct errors as needed

Ensure panels meet UL, NEC, and customer specifications

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Communicate issues or discrepancies to engineering or supervision
