Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hand Buffer & Grinder to join our production team. This position is responsible for the manual grinding, buffing, and finishing of stainless steel Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) to meet company quality and safety standards. You will work inside the containers for much of the day, requiring a high level of attention to detail, physical dexterity, and comfort working in confined spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manually grind, buff, and polish stainless steel surfaces using hand tools and power tools
- Ensure a smooth, clean, and uniform finish on both interior and exterior surfaces of IBCs
- Perform work while kneeling, sitting, or bending inside the containers for extended periods
- Wear full PPE at all times, including paper coveralls with integrated ventilation systems
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance and report any defects or irregularities
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure production deadlines are met
Requirements:
- Prior experience with hand grinding, buffing, or working with stainless steel is preferred
- Ability to work comfortably in confined spaces and in various physical positions (kneeling, bending, sitting)
- Ability to wear full-body PPE including ventilated suits for long periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a physically demanding environment
