We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Editor to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing, refining, and enhancing a variety of content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including articles and creative writing pieces, contributing significantly to the quality and professionalism of our publications. The Editor will collaborate closely with writers and other content creators to produce polished and engaging material that meets the highest standards of excellence.

Duties:
- Attend community meetings and write summaries of the meetings for the newspaper.
- Attend sports and community events and photograph the athletes or participants.
- Proofread and copyedit a wide range of content for grammar, punctuation, style, and consistency.
- Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and credibility across all materials.
- Conduct research to support content development and verify data points as needed.
- Collaborate with writers to provide constructive feedback and guidance on editing revisions.
- Utilize word processing and design tools effectively to manage editing workflows efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in proofreading, writing, and photography.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear feedback.
- Excellent writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience in fact-checking and conducting research for content verification.
- Background in journalism or technical writing is preferred.
- Proficiency in word processing software such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
- Experience with Adobe InDesign is a plus; however, we will provide training if needed.
- Creative writing skills are a plus for editing engaging narratives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
