Fifteen (15) nursery workers are needed to work in Emmet County, Michigan, handling nursery stock including trees, shrubs, daylilies, and other perennials. Workers will perform general nursery duties such as planting, cultivating, transplanting, pruning, spacing, fertilizing, watering, weeding, spraying, tagging, grading plants, preparing fields, digging and handling balled-and-burlapped stock, loading and unloading trucks, and assisting with irrigation and nursery maintenance. Work may include operating agricultural equipment such as tractors, planters, sprayers, and tree spades. The job requires repetitive movements, extensive walking, prolonged standing and bending, and the ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds, including lifting product up to 5 feet. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 months of verifiable nursery experience, preferably with ball-and-burlap field harvesting, and must be able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. Saturday work is required. A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required for workers assigned to drive company vehicles.
