Optimal Care Hospice Aides are vital members of the interdisciplinary hospice team, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care that promotes comfort, safety, and dignity for patients.
What You'll Do:
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, skincare, toileting, and oral hygiene
- Support safe mobility and transfers using Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, gait belts, and assistive devices
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and caregivers
- Assist with light household tasks such as meal prep, cleaning, and grocery shopping
- Observe, document, and report patient care and changes in condition
- Maintain professional boundaries while delivering care in facilities and patient homes
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training (Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training)
- Must hold current certification as a nurse aide and be in good standing on the state nurse aide registry
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and bear the weight of an average adult effectively
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance coverage
- Demonstrated understanding of hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill in the home or facility
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-year experience as a Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or Certified Nursing Assistant

Schedule
- Regular Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
- Weekend Rotation: Required on a rotating basis
Pay Range
$20 - $24 USD
