Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Boring Mill Machinist to set up and operate CNC boring mills (horizontal and/or vertical) to machine large metal parts according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC boring mills (horizontal and/or vertical)
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work orders
- Load, align, and secure raw materials, fixtures, and parts
- Edit machine offsets, tooling, and basic G-code
- Monitor machine performance; adjust feeds, speeds, and tool paths
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools
- (micrometers, calipers, bore gages, height gages, dial indicators)
- Perform routine maintenance, lubrication, and daily safety checks
- Work with engineering, programming, and quality teams to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate production records and quality logs
- Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean work environment
Expected Results
The machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC horizontal and/or vertical boring mills used in machining large, complex, high-precision components.
Ideal candidates have strong technical machining knowledge and the ability to read complex blueprints.
