PURPOSE AND SCOPE
This positionisresponsibleforlaying out fabrications, tacking weldments together, and welding components to customer supplied specificationswith the highest level of quality.This position isresponsible formaintaininga clean and safe work environment,while working with supervisors/leadership to makesuggestions for improvement to products and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Utilizesblueprintsto fit and weld metal components.
Selects equipment andplans,layout, assembly, and welding.
Ensures Quality Auditor is called in to verify work.
Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
Bolts, clamps, and tack-weldsparts to secure in position for welding.
Set upand adjust GMAW equipment to perform quality welds.
Useplasma, and/or oxyfuel cutting torches.
Usehand power tools such as grinders, belt sanders, and diegrinders.
Is proficient using fabrication measurement tools (squares, tape measures, levels, magnets).
Utilizes QC packets todeterminebuild quantity
Repair, disassemble, assemble, straighten,sharpen,and reshape products.
Operates forklifts, hoists, and cranes.
Responsible for executing and supporting the quality system and procedures in the effort for continuous improvement.
EDUCATIONAND/OREXPERIENCE
Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees ofan organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
