Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This a temporary or on-call position. Provides a wide variety of consulting services including conference, seminar or workshop design/presentation; operations review and analysis; project design, completion, coordination or management; or related consulting services. Consultants paid on grant funds must be paid on an hourly or daily basis, with a minimum wage of $12.00 per hour. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
MSU Technologies (MSUT) is seeking an experienced professional to provide specialized support in reviewing and analyzing research-related agreements and intellectual property matters. This role will ensure compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and best practices in technology transfer and research collaborations.
The role requires extensive experience reviewing Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDA), Data Use Agreements (DUA), and related agreements; a strong understanding of intellectual property policies, research compliance and regulatory frameworks; excellent communication, and familiarity with MSU’s research environment and technology transfer processes. This position allows for remote work with a maximum commitment of 4 hours per week for an employment duration of up to 6 months. The role reports to the Executive Director of MSU Technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities

Review and analyze Confidentiality Agreements (CDAs/NDAs), Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), and Data Use Agreements (DUAs) related to research collaborations, research tool distributions, and technology development.

Identify legal, regulatory, and potential institutional concerns with such agreements; ensure alignment with MSU policies and federal regulations; communicate those concerns to Executive Director, MSU Technologies or designee(s).
