The Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House is a private, non-profit organization that provides a safe, affordable place to stay for patients and families who travel from every county in the U.P. to Marquette to receive specialty medical care. Our hospitality house features 22 Guest Rooms, TV lounges, kitchen and dining, multiple offices on 2 floors and a lower level with storage, event space and work room, all within the 27,000 sq. ft. facility.
This position reports to the Assistant General Manager and CEO and works with a housekeeping and hospitality team to maintain the highest standards of guest services, cleaning and upkeep throughout the house and grounds.
Main Duties: Floor Cleaning: including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, and floor cleaning equipment
Grounds Maintenance: including shrub pruning, outdoor planter watering, snow blowing, snow shoveling and salt spreading
General Maintenance: including trash removal, furniture moving, outdoor deck cleaning, outdoor furniture cleaning, grill and griddle cleaning, oven and stove cleaning, vehicle upkeep
Deliveries & Pickups: including flowers and inventory to the Hospital Gift Shop and Food and Coffee supplies to the Hospital Coffee Shop, transporting packages delivered by UPS/Fed Ex to lower level storage area, assistance with receiving weekly food deliveries and putting orders in cold and pantry storage
Guest Chauffer: includes driving patients and families to the hospital for appointments and visits, picking up and returning to Beacon House
Other Duties As Assigned
Qualifications: Experienced in custodial and maintenance
High School Diploma
Professional demeanor, personal grooming & flexibility
Driver’s License, Clean Driving Record
Work well within a team environment
Ability to lift minimum of 50 lbs., bend and twist
