General Motors seeks a(n) Assistant Program Manager in Warren, MI.
Duties: Directly support the Studio Program Manager with overall studio operations. Advocate for the voice of Design in engineering meetings including PET and VAPIR. Facilitate Program Operations Meetings (POps) to track and resolve program issues. Program Management capability including program timing utilizing Momentum and Tableau, issue escalation, and writing change requests utilizing PCM (Program Change Management) System. Understand GVDP and the specific Design milestones and work processes. Develop and maintain strategic relationships between Vehicle Program teams, Advanced Vehicle Development, Design Staff, Engineering, and Manufacturing organizations. Foster and maintain strong relationships with global and regional design colleagues. Single Point of Contact to all functional organizations for the programs that are supported within Design. Ability to work with all levels of the organization and facilitate Exec Chief Engineer (ECE) reviews along with VP of Design reviews as needed. Ability to bring Design, Engineering and Manufacturing together to resolve issues quickly and effectively. Ability to work effectively with other Design Brands, support organizations, and the shops. Support everyday studio needs in collaboration with the Studio Engineering and Sculpting Teams. Update Design Fabrication Operations Bill of Process. Follow models being fabricated in the Design Fabrication Operation shop.
REQUIREMENTS: B degree in Creative Design, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field of study. Two (2) years of experience as a Hardware Design Release Engineer, Exterior Lighting Design Release Engineer, or related occupation. Two years of experience in the following: Supporting design or engineering functions. One year of experience in the following: Developing program timing metrics for the Global Vehicle Development Process and Design Studio release schedule; Writing, Reporting, and Executing Design Change Requests; Reviewing timing deliverable execution with Quality department; Conducting Product Quality Readiness Reviews, including developing reports and presenting status to stakeholders; Facilitating meetings between Design and Engineering groups to support the Global Vehicle Development Process; Forecasting clay property review schedule to coordinate math releases contained in Change Requests; Negotiating resourcing for Vehicle Development Process through Timing Workshops to ensure profitable vehicle development; and Interfacing with Fabrication Operations for asset development.
