The City of Escanaba is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Firefighter Coordinator.
The Firefighter Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and enhancing firefighter operations,
training, and community fire safety programs. This position focuses on pre-planning properties,
ensuring compliance with safety standards, managing critical fire-related data, and improving
firefighter proficiency in specialized areas such as pumper operations, fire inspections, and
emergency vehicle operations.
he Firefighter Coordinator will also coordinate firefighter training and provide mentorship to new Public Safety Officers (PSOs).

Minimum Qualifications:
• Firefighter I & II certification with a minimum of three (3) years of experience
• Hazardous Materials Operations certification
• Fire Instructor certification (must obtain at the first available class if not currently
certified)
• Fire Officer I certification (must obtain at the first available class if not currently
certified)
• Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate fire department vehicles
