Twelve (12) nursery workers are needed in [Ottawa, Kent, Mecosta, St. Joseph, Cass, Montcalm, Muskegon, Allegan, Ionia, Van Buren, Michigan] to perform nursery and orchard work involving young trees, fruit trees, and vegetable crops. Duties include pulling weeds; picking up stones, roots, and debris; removing tarps, wire, and string from trellises; cleaning equipment; caring for young trees through weeding, trunk painting, hand clipping, thinning, pruning, and harvesting apples and asparagus. Workers may use 16-foot orchard ladders weighing approximately 40 lbs and must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs throughout the workday. The job requires repetitive movements, extensive standing and walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and working in wet conditions and temperatures ranging from below freezing to 105°F. Saturday work is required. Workers must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 3 months of nursery experience, with verifiable job references. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing may be required after an accident or upon reasonable suspicion. Workers must follow all safety rules and supervisor instructions.

Work schedule: Generally, 36 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Additional hours may be offered but are not required.

H-2A workers who use employer-provided housing at no cost will be offered a wage rate of $16.15 per hour, based on the 2026 State minimum wage of Michigan. Transportation: Workers hired from beyond normal commuting distance will be reimbursed for inbound transportation costs. Upon completion of the full work contract, these workers will also be provided or reimbursed for outbound transportation costs.
