Mackinaw Seasonal Resorts, Inc. located in Mackinaw City, MI has 12 openings for full time temporary Fast Food Cooks, $13.73 to $15.00/hr. ($20.60 to $22.50/hr. O.T.) from 4/1/2026 to 10/27/2026. Duties: Order and take delivery of supplies. Cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously. Prepare specialty foods, such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos, following specific methods that usually require short preparation time. Operate large-volume cooking equipment, such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles. Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking. Prepare and serve beverages, such as coffee or fountain drinks. Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils. Read food order slips or receive verbal instructions as to food required by patron, and prepare and cook food according to instructions. Serve orders to customers at windows, counters, or tables. Clean, stock, and restock workstations and display cases. Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas. Cook and package batches of food, such as hamburgers or fried chicken, prepared to order or kept warm until sold. Prepare dough, following recipe. Take food and drink orders and receive payment from customers. Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. Pre-cook items, such as bacon, to prepare them for later use. Measure ingredients required for specific food items. Mix ingredients, such as pancake or waffle batters. Schedule activities and equipment use with managers, using information about daily menus to help coordinate cooking times. Take out garbage. Order materials, supplies, or equipment. Cook foods. Prepare foods for cooking or serving. Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment. Serve food or beverages. Prepare hot or cold beverages. Stock serving stations or dining areas with food or supplies. Prepare breads or doughs. Process customer bills or payments. Take customer orders. Check quality of foods or supplies. Measure ingredients. Mix ingredients. Coordinate timing of food production activities.
The days and hours of work will vary depending on scheduling and the level of business but will generally be 6 days per week with rotating days off. The business is open 7 days per week, Friday-Thursday (including Saturday and Sunday). Examples of daily work schedules include: 11:00am –
5:00pm, 10:30am – 4:30pm, 9:00am – 3:00pm, 12:00pm – 6:00pm, 6:00pm–12:00am, 5:00pm – 11:00pm, 4:00pm – 10:00pm, 8:00pm – 2:00am approximately an average of 36 hours per week over the course of expected employment term with some occasional overtime during busy times. Weekend, holiday, and night work will be required. Must be available to work all shifts. If required by prevailing law the employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Raises and bonuses available based on performance or length of service with the employer. Fast food cooks may receive tips from customers.
Work locations will be at establishments located 102 & 401 E Central, 201, 252, 322, 416, 618, 918 S Huron all located in Mackinaw City, MI, all within walking distance.
Optional employer sponsored health insurance through Blue Care Network is available as payroll deductions of 9.96% of W-2 wages or $630.92/month, whichever amount is less. Acceptance of employer sponsored health insurance plan is not a condition for employment. If health insurance is elected, payroll deductions of the premium set forth above will be deducted from the employee's paycheck. In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.

Workers are paid every two weeks. A single workweek will be used to compute wages due. The work week runs from Friday to Thursday. The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law. No other deductions will be taken unless voluntarily agreed to by the employee.
Work tools, supplies and equipment will be provided without charge or deposit.
H-2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees) incurred by the worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
The employer does not provide housing or board during the term of employment however the employer does have a limited number of optional shared housing units available for rent by seasonal workers at a cost to the worker of $79.95 per week and $200 deposit refundable upon inspection at end of season. Use of employer provided housing is not a condition of employment. The housing is within walking distance of the worksites. If a worker rents housing from the employer, the employee will be asked to agree to have the rent deducted from their paycheck.
Employer does not provide transportation to and from work location during the term of employment. This job order, including its wage and working terms and conditions, is contingent upon prevailing legal interpretations of federal H-2B immigration and FLSA employment law, including Department of Labor and Department of Homeland Security regulations. If any such prevailing law is rescinded, superseded, vacated, or substantially modified, then the employer will accordingly revise any affected term. This job order is subject to H-2B position approval.
