Job Summary
Provide assignments and dispatch paid and/or volunteer drivers for blood pick-up and delivery. Supervise volunteer drivers who are assigned to perform blood pick-up and deliveries. Coordinate various transportation related services including scheduling, routing, and ensuring the safe operation of all vehicles. Perform complex administrative duties to ensure an efficient and cost-effective integrated logistics operation within the Region or Division. Provide support to the daily operations in the functional area of Transportation.
Responsibilities
1. Provide assignments and dispatch paid and/or volunteer drivers for blood pick-up and delivery.
2. Supervise volunteer drivers who are assigned to perform blood pick-up and deliveries.
3. Issue vehicles from motor pool. Ensure vehicle operator can legally operate vehicle.
4. Prioritize special requests. Screen special requests to determine best mode of transportation.
5. Continually monitor all assignments, changing of routes and new assignments.
6. Respond to emergency deliveries.
7. Develop route guides and train volunteer drivers to perform blood pick-up and deliveries.

Associates degree or equivalent and minimum of two years related work experience required. One year of supervisory experience preferred. Basic understanding of Scheduling. Understanding of DOTand vehicle repairs. Ability to provide great customer service to internal and external customers.Related experience includes practical and technical skill and knowledge of logistics, and working with volunteer engagement. Computer proficiency and excellent communications and organizational skills required. A valid driver's license and clean Driving record is required.
