Mechanical Design Engineer - Mechanisms & Actuation Sterling Heights, MI $46.42-$51.42/Hour Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. Responsibilities: * Develop and model detailed hardware concepts in NX or Creo, ensuring alignment with engineering and technical requirements * Support mechanical design of vehicle subsystems such as: * Battery integration components * Driver controls * Lighting * Doors and hatches * Latches, hinges, seating, guards, mounting, and stowage systems * Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure performance, cost, and schedule goals are met * Work with drafting personnel to mature designs for production release * Release hardware models and drawings per ASME Y14.100 standards * Interface with manufacturing teams for hardware integration on prototype and production vehicles * Support component testing and system-level verification as required Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET-accredited program * Experience: 5 - 7 years in a mechanical design or engineering support role * Technical Skills: * 3D CAD modeling in Siemens NX and/or PTC Creo * Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) * Understanding of ASME Y14.100 drawing standards * Microsoft 365 proficiency * Work Environment: * On-site presence required up to 100% * Must be able to climb on/off and work around military vehicles * Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed * Travel: Up to 20% to GDLS facilities or military installations Preferred Qualifications: * Prior engineering work within the defense or aerospace industries * Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems * Active or interim DoD Security Clearance * Strong organizational and cross-functional collaboration skills Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is an AA/EEO/Veterans/Disabled Employer.
