Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time NVH Technologist for an automotive Tier 1 supplier in Dearborn, MI. The Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) Technologist will support engineering testing for research and development of vehicles, products, subsystems, components, and materials. This role sets up and conducts tests, collects data using specialized equipment and data acquisition systems, ensures testing follows established procedures, and prepares test reports for internal and external customers. Shift:
- AM day shift: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (Monday – Friday + overtime as needed)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up test equipment
- Conduct tests, document test set-up & process/communicate test results
- Verify testing accuracy, thoroughness, and determine if additional testing is needed
- Identifying NVH/durability or testing issues and help to develop countermeasures
- Perform minor automotive mechanic work as required for testing
- Complete part changes as required for testing
- Completes additional tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid U.S. driver's license and a good driving record
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in NVH testing
- Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: powertrain and driveline NVH, vehicle NVH, modal analysis, mount systems, acoustic and damping materials
- Knowledge of instrumentation, test equipment, and data processing techniques
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to multi-task and be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred but not required:
- Degree in a technical field
- Knowledge of NVH testing & analysis software: Siemens Simcenter Testlab, National Instruments Labview and/or MTS Flextest
- Ability to diagnose and solve NVH problems using experimental and analytical resources
- Skilled at processing data and general knowledge of the underlying math
- Ability to operate powertrain or chassis dynamometers
- Ability to develop and construct custom test stands
- Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
