Group/DivisionThe Legal Compliance Organization (LCO) team headquartered in Milpitas, CA and second headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI provides legal guidance to further KLA's strategic objectives and protect and preserve the legal, ethical and financial integrity and reputation of the Company. With specific expertise in the areas of corporate law, commercial law, employment law, and intellectual property; the LCO offers strategic legal counsel that is informed by a clear understanding of the company's business objectives and expertise in the laws and regulations relevant to the business worldwide.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a highly motivated tech-minded attorney who is excited by the opportunities to use AI to transform legal operations. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a background in high-tech companies who is passionate and knowledgeable about AI. You will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency of our legal workflows and providing strategic advice on the intersection of technology and the law.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Chief Legal Officer in identifying and implementing AI tools to optimize legal services to the organization. This role reports directly to the Chief Legal Officer but must serve all CLO's other direct reports.
Collaborate with stakeholders in legal, IT and cybersecurity on implementation of AI to streamline and expedite legal workflows and drive efficiencies.
Lead projects to help drive responsible, innovative AI development that support business growth and innovation.
Monitor and interpret AI-specific regulations and provide advice on data governance, privacy, and cybersecurity matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws when implementing AI solutions.
Support each of the global organizations within legal-compliance, contracts, corporate services/governance and M&A, employment, and IP in leveraging technology to manage the complex and rapidly changing laws and legal workflow applicable to a highly successful semi-cap business.
Willingness to assist with other legal tech matters as needed-including cybersecurity and data privacy.
Provide legal research and guidance on the impact of AI and other technical advances on all other areas of the law.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in California or Michigan (or eligible for in-house counsel registration).
2-5 years of legal experience, preferably in-house at a leading high-tech or semiconductor company.
Experience with AI use in the legal setting and interpreting laws and best practices governing AI use, data privacy and cyber security.
Demonstrated interest and experience in legal technology, AI tools, and legal operations.
High energy, positive disposition, ability to meld well with a team-oriented group, and can-do work ethic all required
International, cross-border experience highly desirable.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years
Base Pay Range: $145,900.00 - $248,000.00 Annually
