Job Overview:
As the Assistant Store Manager at Tropical Smoothie Cafe, you will be responsible for supporting and assisting the daily operations of the store, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining inventory control, managing staff, and creating a positive and productive work environment. Your leadership will be critical in maintaining the high standards of quality and service that our brand is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Day-to-Day Operations: Ensure efficient and smooth operations of the store, including managing the flow of customers, food preparation, and cleaning.
- Customer Service Excellence: Lead by example to provide outstanding customer service and address customer concerns or feedback in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor Inventory and Ordering: Maintain accurate inventory levels, monitor stock levels, and place orders as necessary to ensure the cafe operates without interruptions. Manage waste and spoilage to minimize costs.
- Team Leadership and Training: Recruit, hire, and train new team members, ensuring they are knowledgeable in all operational processes. Conduct ongoing training and provide feedback to help employees grow and improve.
- Support Employee Scheduling and Supervision: Create work schedules, monitor attendance, and ensure proper staffing levels to meet the needs of the business. Supervise and motivate team members to perform their best.
- Maintain a Positive Work Environment: Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages open communication, teamwork, and mutual respect.
- Uphold Sales and Profitability: Meet or exceed sales targets by implementing marketing initiatives and upselling products. Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all food safety standards, cleanliness, and health codes are met consistently. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to maintain compliance.
- Contribute to Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Address any operational or employee issues promptly and professionally, ensuring that the work environment remains positive and productive.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience in a fast-casual or restaurant setting preferred.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse group of employees.
- Customer Service Focus: Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring an excellent experience for every guest.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and upper management.
- Organizational Skills: Strong multitasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: Understanding of food safety regulations and experience in maintaining health and safety compliance in a food-service environment.

- Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
