Description
The Infrastructure Role is responsible for effective provisions, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of data center systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for MSU Federal Credit Union. This includes, but is not limited to, physical hardware, storage devices, virtualization, windows OS, data center and domain functions. Additional tasks include installing/configuring new hardware, system performance tuning and general maintenance (logs, backups, patching, etc.). The position is also responsible for monitoring the systems and services and planning for upgrades and future expansion. This individual ensures that system hardware, server operating systems, infrastructure software systems and related procedures adhere to organizational core values. Activities include the scoping of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research and development within the project lifecycle; technical analysis and design; and support of staff in executing, testing and rolling-out solutions for the IT infrastructure.
Work Arrangement: This position is able to work onsite, hybrid, or remote (must reside within the State of Michigan).
To be considered for this role, candidate must currently reside, or have plans to reside upon hire, within the state of Michigan as described above. Occasional travel on a quarterly basis to MSUFCU Headquarters (East Lansing, MI) may be needed.
Department Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pm ET.
An offer of employment with MSU Federal Credit Union and affiliates is contingent upon the agreed work arrangement (onsite/hybrid/remote) and work location. Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range:
Infrastructure Administrator - $70,000 - $85,000+ annually, depending on experience
Infrastructure Engineer - $85,000 - $105,000+ annually, depending on experience
Infrastructure Architect - $105,000 - $135,000+ annually, depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Administrator -
Provide Tier III technical support in accurately troubleshooting or researching infrastructure systems and software so that problems are resolved quickly without significant interruption to service. This can include on-site or remote support.
Maintain and monitor Active Directory Domain Services, DNS, Exchange, and Group Policy.
Rack, monitor and maintain physical and virtual server environment and SAN/NAS storage systems.
Install patches and upgrades to infrastructure hardware, firmware, and/or software.
Responsible for physical storage media management (i.e., extending file systems, storage on demand, server disk drives, tape backup devices, etc.)
Tier III Administration and maintenance of Active Directory user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Configure & perform daily infrastructure monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server and storage resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs.
Coordinate the maintenance or repair of infrastructure hardware.
Monitor, and maintain procedures, programs, and documentation for infrastructure backups/restoration, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various credit union infrastructure systems.
Effectively communicate with employees and/or external vendors to gather information or resolve incidents.
Coordinate within cross-functional teams to support and maintain the Data Center environments. Adhere to industry standard hardware installation and cabling practices while maintaining the security and integrity of the data, infrastructure systems, and networks.
Work with third-party vendors to configure, and support systems that interface with the credit union's infrastructure. Act as the liaison between third party vendors and the credit union.
Communicate project progress to project sponsors and management in meetings and by making timely updates to the department's ticketing and project management systems.
Ensure that infrastructure system security meets the organization and industry standards and that any findings are addressed in a timely manner.
Maintain the integrity of network security through security updates and patches for systems.
Manage and document infrastructure system configurations.
Proactively suggest new techniques and technologies to improve system reliability.
Develops requests for proposal by assembling information including project nature, objectives/outcomes/deliverables, implementation plans and dependencies.
Plan, prioritize, estimate, manage, and deliver projects and work efforts on time.
Provides on-call support on a rotating schedule or as needed for emergencies, including outside of normal business hours.
Provide mentoring and guidance to less experienced personnel.
Identify and communicate any system problem, hardware problem, or usage problem whereby the integrity of credit union and/or member data may be compromised or impaired.
Keep management advised of any on-going problems not being resolved satisfactorily or that prevent the fulfillment of responsibilities.
