The Attorney Supervisor is an attorney management position that supports the Deputy Chiefs and the appointed Public Defender Director, playing a crucial role in supervising, mentoring, and training Assistant Public Defenders who represent clients in criminal misdemeanor and felony cases. The Attorney Supervisor will oversee attorneys in their daily
work representing clients holistically, working closely with the social work team, the investigative team, and support staff to ensure that each client entrusted to our care is provided the finest client-centered legal representation. This position also provides operational/administrative assistance to the Deputy Chiefs, the Director, and other members of the Executive Team for the daily operations of the law office including recruitment efforts, performance evaluations, professional development initiatives, and compliance with all Michigan Indigent Defense Commission (MIDC) Standards as required by law.
