Job Description\nDirector, Curriculum & Learning\n\nSUMMARY: As the Director of Curriculum & Learning you will lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of high-stakes adult learning programs. This role is responsible for creating exceptional, market-driven learning experiences that achieve high certification exam pass rates and drive meaningful career outcomes for learners.\n\nThe ideal candidate has strong experience in the health care space and IT and can lead a team building innovative, learner-centric programs at scale.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\n\n * Oversee the end-to-end curriculum lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and iteration for all learning programs\n\n * Identify market opportunities, emerging trends, and customer needs to drive innovation and competitive advantage in course offerings\n\n * Conduct market research and gather customer feedback to inform product decisions and curriculum improvements\n\n * Ensure all programs are designed with a learner-centric approach, optimizing engagement and knowledge retention for adult learners in an e-learning environment\n\n * Partner with student services to monitor key program performance indicators (KPIs), such as student engagement, course completion rates, and ultimate certification pass rates\n\n * Develop and manage the annual curriculum budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources across development projects.\n\n * Collaborate closely with certification bodies, staying in tune with updates to certification exams and ensuring program offerings remain in sync\n\n * Own relationships with 3rd party vendors to support development and enhancement of the curriculum\n\n * Ensure all content meets compliance and regulatory standards specific to professional credentialing and adult education\n\n * Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing product team (including instructional designers, project managers and subject matter experts), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability\n\n * Apply a data-driven approach in decision making regarding content effectiveness and program optimization\n\n * Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all learning science, adult education methodologies, and instructional design best practices across the organization\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 4 - 8 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\n * Eight (8) years of experience in product and curriculum development, ideally in the education and certification space\n\n * Previous management experience\n\n * Knowledge of adult education trends, certification processes, and e-learning technologies\n\n * Proven success in designing programs that lead to high-stakes vocational or professional certifications\n\n * Demonstrated familiarity with federal and state education compliance requirements and digital accessibility standards, including WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)\n\n * Demonstrated proficiency with e-learning and LMS platforms, including experience managing configuration, integration, and utilization of industry-leading systems\n\n * Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams\n\n * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach in decision making\n\n * Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences\n\n * Ability to clear required background check\n\nCertificates and Licenses: None required.\n\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\n * Bachelor's degree in instructional design and technology\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Compensation will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.\n\nWe anticipate the salary range to be between $72,940.5 and$134,748.25. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual's compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
