Duties and Responsibilities:
-
Coordinate scheduling and parent notification for IEP, MET, and Manifestation Determination meetings
-
Maintain accurate B-worksheets, attendance, and special education records
-
Advise building principal on student disabilities and discipline impact
-
Maintain up-to-date binder of IEPs and discipline documentation
-
Provide regular progress reports to parents on IEP goals
-
Develop IEPs with appropriate goals and objectives
-
Lead and facilitate IEP meetings
-
Plan and implement instructional services for assigned students
-
Deliver direct instruction as outlined in IEPs
-
Support general education staff with accommodations and student needs
-
Offer supplemental instruction aligned to general education curriculum
-
Maintain service schedules including frequency and duration of support
-
Assist with course scheduling for special education students
-
Collaborate with MET team for accurate evaluations and placements
-
Align instruction with district strategic goals
-
Maintain regular communication with staff, administration, and families
-
Stay current on legislation and practices in special education
-
Notify special education office of students joining via address changes
-
Submit all required documents to the records office within 10 days of meetings
-
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
-
Meets state, district, and school professional teaching requirements
-
Holds single subject credential or certification if applicable
-
Possesses required endorsements for the subject/area
-
Relevant teaching experience
