Degree/Certification:
High School Diploma and meets Highly Qualified guidelines for Title I buildings - at least one of the following:
- Associates Degree or Certificate of Competency for ETS test.
- Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
At Alma Public Schools, paraprofessionals are vital to the day-to-day operation of our schools. They work alongside certified staff to support student growth, contribute to a positive learning environment, and help the district achieve its goals.
MAJOR DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Assisting certified teachers with classroom instruction and activities.
- Reinforcing lessons through small-group or one-on-one support.
- Supporting students with disabilities, 504 plans, or behavior intervention plans.
- Assisting with adaptive, physical, or medical needs in collaboration with other staff.
- Helping manage classroom routines and supporting a positive learning environment.
- Providing behavioral support, documentation, and crisis assistance as needed.
- Building strong relationships with students to better understand and meet their needs.
- Supporting inclusive practices that ensure all students have access to learning.
- Adapting to changing assignments and schedules based on student, classroom, or school needs.
- Applying individual skills, training, and past experiences to best support students and staff.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. — 3:15 p.m. (1/2-hour unpaid lunch)
COMPENSATION:
Staffing Parapro wage - $14.00/hr.
