Position Summary
Gates Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Director, Operations Finance, to be based in Rochester Hills, Michigan. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operations finance leader to take their career to the next level with an innovative, global brand with strong future growth prospects.
In this position, the incumbent will have responsibility for financial excellence in operations finance across 45 manufacturing facilities worldwide. The role will partner with the CAO and regional operations leaders to drive productivity, working capital efficiency, and transparency of financial results and key operating metrics.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for leading the operations' financial processes across the four global regions of Gates, including manufacturing performance reporting, cost accounting, total product cost analysis and inventory valuation.
Lead standardization efforts of operational finance processes.
Leads the monthly variance analysis vs. Plan, forecast and prior year for manufacturing performance in absorption, PPV, material variances, and other cost of sales.
Leads improvements and implementation of standard costing processes and total production cost determination.
Lead the global standard cost roll process. Collaborates with the regional P&L leaders as liaison on all manufacturing performance metrics and strategy, communicating actual performance achievement and requirements of the business to attain company objectives.
Leads efforts to improve manufacturing productivity, working capital optimization, supply chain and production capital efficiency
Coordinates capital approval process, metrics, and results for operations capital.
Provide global support and best practice guidance on various projects including ERP and other improvement projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Leads Operations Finance teams worldwide, including HQ, Americas, EMEA and APAC.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
TRAVEL:
10% to 20%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with advanced degree (MBA, MA) preferred.
Must have ten to 15 years of specific experience in related accounting and finance roles with progressive responsibility, with aheavy emphasis on manufacturing and supply chain.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to adapt to changing demands, with flexibility to varying processes.
Proven experience improving manufacturing productivity and operating working capital.
Direct experience managing production operations finance.
Proven track record managing complex, multi-site P&L's, with direct responsibility for earnings and cash flow.
Strong cost accounting knowledge and ERP management experience.
Takes initiative to build collaborative relationships with internal and external customers.
Superior written and verbal communication skills.
Works well under pressure, effectively handles conflicts.
Ability to see the big picture; demonstrates ability to conceptualize strategic vision and translate into tactical actionable plans.
