We’re currently searching for a Body Crash Safety Systems Test Engineer to join our team and drive validation and verification of vehicle body systems to the highest standards. This role focuses on executing test programs for closures and interior components, managing test logistics, ensuring compliance with FMVSS regulations, and supporting continuous improvement in testing processes.
The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in automotive closures and interior testing, including Door KLT, SAG, Overload Durability, Oil Canning, Floor Pan Deflection, Tie Down Strength, and Life Cycle testing. Highly organized, analytical, and collaborative, this individual will play a critical role in ensuring durable, safe, and reliable body systems across our vehicle platforms.

Location:
Role and Responsibilities
- Execute validation and verification tests on body system components and subsystems
- Identify the right test locations and required equipment/instrumentation
- Schedule tests in alignment with build phases, part availability, and program timelines
- Coordinate logistics for prototype vehicles, parts, and fixtures for testing
- Identify failures, deviations, or non-conformities, drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Ensure proper instrumentation and data acquisition during tests
- Document test results in detailed engineering reports
- Ensure all testing aligns with Dorleco internal requirements and regulatory standards
- Document findings and provide root cause analysis when required
- Work with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot and resolve test failures
- Maintain traceability of issues and test findings through issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA)
- Stay updated with industry best practices and contribute to continuous improvement of test processes
Preferred experience and skills
Candidates should have a good knowledge and familiar with Automotive closures and Interior test requirements and standards. Experience with Door KLT, SAG, Overload Durability, Oil Canning, Floor Pan Deflection, Tie Down Strength testing, Life Cycle testing, and a deep understanding of FMVSS regulations (208, 207, 210, 216, 225) is preferred.
