Mission Point Resort in Mackinac Island, MI, seeks 4 Housekeeping Supervisors for temporary, full-time employment (04/01/2026 to 11/16/2026). Duties: Ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation are maintained throughout Mission Point Resort. Ensure team members maintain a clean, orderly, and attractive environment within Mission Point Resorts guest rooms and public spaces. Ensure all Housekeepers’ needs are addressed during the work shift. Assist in folding and storing clean linens and other Housekeeping supplies. Communicate with guests and ensure all guest needs and requests are met and responded to promptly. Remain informed on daily and weekly events / activities taking place at Mission Point Resort. Create daily housekeeping “boards” (rooms assigned to each housekeeper). Properly inspect guest rooms after Housekeeper is finished cleaning to ensure all necessary standards are met – using approved scoring system. Continuously train and coach Housekeepers and Housemen allowing them to learn and improve their skills. Manage room status in the PMS system and switch rooms to vacant / clean when ready for occupancy. Communicate with the Front Desk to expedite room status when needed. Ensure Housekeepers maintain stocked carts and closets, retrieving items as needed. Direct Housemen to strip rooms, clear linens, and remove garbage from rooms as needed. Ensure that Housekeepers are performing their duties and following expected room times per resort standards. Perform additional housekeeping supervisory duties as assigned.
May perform other job duties pursuant to 37-1011.00, First-Line Supervisors of Housekeeping and Janitorial Workers.
35 hours/week. 7+ hour shifts hours with 30-minute unpaid break each shift; shifts vary based on venue and may be any time between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm. 5 days per week, Sun-Sat. May work evenings, weekends, holidays, as needed. Schedule (including workdays) may vary. May work more than the guaranteed hours. May work overtime. OT varies.
Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, will supervise 2-4 Housekeepers.
High school diploma / GED or foreign equivalent and 12 months of experience in housekeeping or related position in a resort setting required. On-the-job training will not be provided.
Must be available to work dates of employment and hours/shifts stated in job listing. Must be able to walk, stand, and move for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, kneel and reach. Must be able to speak and understand English.
$21.64/hr; O/T $32.46/hr. Workers will be paid no less than the wage listed. Employer may pay higher wage rates to workers based on seniority with employer and level of skill. Overtime hours may vary.
Bonus available for full completion of agreed upon employment period.
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Employer assurances pursuant to 20 CFR 655.20:
- Single work week used in computing wages due.
- Wages paid bi-weekly.
- Work tools, supplies & equipment provided without cost to employee.
- Workers have the option of employer-provided housing for $320 per month (plus an additional $120 per month for cafeteria / meals), and if elected, employer will deduct costs from worker's paycheck. Workers also have the option of securing their own lodging.
- Employer will make all deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law and any non-legally required payroll deductions permitted under the law and requested by Employee.
- Employer will arrange & pay directly for transportation & subsistence from place of recruitment to place of work. Employer will issue reimbursement within the first workweek when required to meet FLSA minimum wage obligations. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, if the worker has no immediately subsequent H-2B employment, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation & subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical & reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
- Employer will reimburse worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing & related fees, incl. those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
- The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
