Position Title: Custodian – Central Campus (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.)
Classification: United Steelworkers – $17.89 per hour
Department: Building and Grounds
Responsible To: Facilities Program Director
Primary Functions
Assisting the facilities team in providing a clean, safe, and presentable facility. Helping to preserve the organization's assets by following best practices in cleaning and housekeeping.
Essential Job Responsibilities

Open and/or close the building for its daily functions, including working with automated building security systems.

Cleaning assigned areas utilizing established schedules; areas may include administrative offices, common working and eating spaces, restrooms, kitchenettes, cafeterias, etc.

Use prescribed methods to perform duties such as trash removal, sweeping and/or dust mopping floors, polishing hard surfaces, cleaning windows and mirrors, and dusting office furniture and equipment.

Use equipment like auto scrubbers, carpet machines, and pressure washers to perform duties.

Arrange, set up, and/or tear down equipment and staging for public events.

Possess the ability to work from diagrams, written, and/or verbal instructions.

Proficient using computers and handheld devices.

Comfortable and able to work in inclement weather conditions to perform various seasonal duties such as salting and shoveling snow from vehicles, walks, and entrances; picking up trash and debris from grounds.

Load and unload supplies for the department and occasional shipments for building functions.

Assist the facilities team in identifying items in need of repair and entering work orders into the CMMS.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.
Required Applicant Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

One to two years of custodial work required.

Must be able to lift a minimum of seventy-five pounds.

Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable working in the presence of students with disabilities.

Demonstrated experience in handling responsibility.
