Entry-level machinist responsible for safe operation of CNC vertical and/or horizontal mills under close supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Load/unload parts into CNC milling machines using proper fixtures and clamps.
Follow basic setup instructions provided by lead machinist or setup sheets.
Run production jobs, monitor cycle times, and report issues.
Use basic measuring tools (calipers, depth mics, height gauges) to verify in-process part features.
Clean machine, remove chips, and perform minor maintenance tasks (lubrication, fluid checks).
Follow work instructions, job travelers, and safety protocols. Requirements:
High School Diploma
Experience: 0-2 years in CNC machining or technical school graduate
Ability to read simple mechanical blueprints.
Familiarity with basic machine control panel operations (start, stop, feed hold).
Understands basic shop math and measuring systems (inch).
Basic understanding of milling operations (face milling, drilling, pocketing).
