The Tool Specialist maintains tool inventory by issuing tools and parts to technicians, tracking location of tools and returning tools to inventory. In addition, this position requisitions shop supplies, tooling and equipment; maintains and updates calibration schedule and records for company and team members' tools and equipment; and cleans, inspects and repairs tools and equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Monitors location of shop and specialty tools, checks tools in and out, ships and tracks necessary tools for road trip requirements, and returns tools to inventory.
Monitors the condition of shop tools and cleans and repairs tools and shop equipment to maintain their proper functioning.
Obtains information and quotes for tools and shop equipment and requisitions new tools and supplies as requested by management. Recommends replacement and new tooling to production managers. Obtains information and various quotes from suppliers. Assists in maintaining supplies and keeping bench stock area at adequate levels.
Maintains and updates calibration schedules and records for company shop equipment, tools and team members' tools.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required
Physical: Regularly lifts up to 50lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting; basic computer skills; repetitive motion; reads small print
Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
Education and Experience
High School graduate or equivalent required
Six months mechanical and/or electrical or related experience required
