Position Summary
Job Summary:
The registered nurse is responsible for the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of the patients’ status, plan of care, and goal achievement. The perfect candidate is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as a top priority. The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and provides safe, effective, and culturally competent patient care in accordance with the organizational policies and procedures.
Job Duties:
- Provides direct nursing care to patients, performs examinations, and assists health care providers with medical procedures.
- Assists in coordinating total patient care which includes but is not limited to telephone triage according to established practice guidelines, patient education, medication refills and administering injections as necessary.
- Assists in planning, maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting policies, procedures, and nursing care standards for the clinic while assuring compliance to clinic quality standards.
- Documents nursing actions in patients' records using the electronic medical record system to provide accurate medical records for future reference and accountability.
- Participates in interdisciplinary planning for meeting patient care and health service objectives.
- Assist in developing protocols for carrying out health care providers orders.
- Assist management with supervision, staffing, or other administrative duties.
- Assist in planning, maintaining and evaluating policies and procedures for the clinic.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in Nursing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing; work experience in a particular area of nursing or health care.

Work Hours
Work hours are typically 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM but may vary as necessary to accommodate clinic operations.

Summary of Physical Demands
Exposure to human blood, serum, and other body fluids; and materials covered under Universal Precautions; TB risk or work within three (3) feet of patients in a health care setting; wear a respirator.
Summary of Health Risks
The job requires significant physical effort and involves lifting and maneuvering patients, extensive walking and standing and fine manual dexterity 26-75% of the time; visual and aural acuity necessary to monitor patient care.
