Summary
 
This position assists in monitoring NMC residential students in the halls when on call, this is strictly a part-time position, no more than 4 days a month. This individual must be available to students after hours in case of emergencies or crises and is required to stay on campus in the Residence Halls when on-call. The ideal candidate will be a friendly and approachable person who serves as a role model to students. This person will be able to see the big picture and will consistently follow policies and procedures at the College.
 
Qualifications
 
Required:
 
• Bachelors degrees
 
• Valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license, or the ability to obtain by work start date
 
• Stay on-campus in the Residence Halls or designated campus facility when on call and be within 15-minute radius of campus.
 
• Good interpersonal skills are essential for reaching out to people of diverse populations and maintaining morale for both students and employees
 
Preferred:
 
• Experience in higher education student, campus or residence life.
 
• Supervisory experience/training experience
 
• Word processing skills
 
• Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office, and other software; ability to use the Internet
 
• Flexible, organized person who displays attention to detail and possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
 
• Prior experience in situations involving conflict resolution

On-Call Responsibilities
 
• The Supplemental Campus Life On-call support individual must be able to multi-task, be self-directed and prioritize work; have good listening, verbal, and written communications skills; and be able to set goals and enforce deadlines.
• Respond to emergencies and crises as needed.
• Be able to think quickly and react in a calm manner when interacting with students, parents and emergency services.
• Be available after hours for students, summer guests, and staff urgent needs.
• Adhere to all NMC policies, procedures and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned
