Members First Credit Union is seeking a Member Relationship Representative I for our Dartmouth Branch in Midland, MI with at least one year of related experience.

Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission, vision, and brand promise. You will do this by living out our core values in every service contact to both internal and external members. Essential Duties
- 
Deliver on the Credit Union’s Promises in every service situation 
- 
Develop and maintain an effective level of product knowledge 
- 
Identify members’ financial needs and recommend appropriate Credit Union solutions 
- 
Inform members of loans available within the Lending Policies of the credit union 
- 
Increase loan volume by cross-selling additional loan products, using information obtained from the member and/or credit report 
- 
Open New Accounts, new IRA accounts, certificates of deposits, and various other share and sub accounts 
- 
Tell new members and potential members about our MFCU products and services and how the member will benefit from them 
- 
Be a visible presence in the local community through business, chamber, and charitable events as assigned 
- 
Travel is required to various branch locations to cover staffing shortages 
- 
This is an in-branch role, with availability needed 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday–Friday, with Saturday coverage and some hours outside normal schedule for meetings/trainings 
- 
Successfully obtain Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation through America's Credit Unions within first year 
Duties and Responsibilities
- 
Create opportunities for expanded member relationships by identifying needs for additional products and services 
- 
Process member cash and checks 
- 
Operate and balance a cash drawer when needed 
- 
Handle member inquiries on accounts, statements, and transaction histories 
- 
Process check orders 
- 
Sell Visa Gift and Travel Cards and cashier’s checks/money orders 
- 
Collect service fees as required 
- 
Remind delinquent members about payment obligations 
New Accounts
- 
Explain products and services thoroughly to members 
- 
Prepare and process documentation for new accounts 
- 
Collect share deposits 
- 
Assist with the new accounts auditing process 
- 
Prepare adverse action letters when applicable 
- 
Maintain knowledge of IRA laws and documentation 
General Sales Expectations
- 
Successfully use Sales Champion skills and behaviors 
- 
Actively participate in credit union promotions and achieve financial service goals 
- 
Build relationships with members and offer solutions to meet financial needs 
- 
Assist in the onboarding process to strengthen new member relationships 
Other
- 
Answer phones and handle member inquiries 
- 
Process mail as needed 
- 
Attend educational functions as required 
- 
Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
- 
High school diploma or equivalent required 
- 
1–2 years of related experience preferred 
- 
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
