Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to build tools and fixtures to exact specifications.

• Perform precision fitting, machining, drilling, and assembly of components using manual and power tools.

• Work with tight tolerances, ensuring accuracy and functionality of completed tools.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during tool build, including fit, alignment, and function.

• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and other team members to refine designs and improve tool performance.

• Maintain high safety and quality standards throughout the build process.

• Support installation, tryout, and verification of tools in production environments.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Class 1 Tool Builder or equivalent role.

• Strong knowledge of toolmaking principles, precision assembly, and machining practices.

• Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and engineering specifications.

• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).

• Problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred:

• Experience in automation, welding fixtures, or assembly tooling.

• Apprenticeship, journeyman card, or equivalent technical training.
