Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
The Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection (A-CAPP) at Michigan State University is the world’s leading academic center focused on brand protection and anti-counterfeiting taking a multidisciplinary approach to research, education, and outreach—bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The A-CAPP Center works with a global network of over 500 organizations, including multinational brands, law enforcement, government agencies, investigators, nonprofits, and e-commerce platforms in a fast-paced, hybrid environment, balancing academic rigor with the responsiveness. As a largely self-sustaining center, the success of its communications and outreach directly supports its continued growth and impact. In this role, this position would:

Integrate communications and marketing efforts with the Center’s annual calendar of activities, including certificate programs, research releases, outreach events, media engagements, and more.

Develop and manage content for digital platforms including the Center’s website, LinkedIn, and email campaigns. Ensure messaging is consistent, timely, and aligned with strategic goals.

Outreach Materials:
Design and distribute digital and print materials to support the Center’s education, outreach, and research initiatives. This includes promotional flyers, newsletters, infographics, and event collateral.

Assist in translating complex research findings into accessible formats for industry, academic, and public audiences. Support the creation of summaries, briefs, and visual content.

Collaboration & Coordination:
Work closely with internal team members and external partners—including industry stakeholders, media contacts, and academic collaborators—to support communications goals and ensure alignment across projects
Experience Required:
- Commununications, marketing, or public relations
- Experience in academic or research environments preferred
- Excellent writing, editing, and design skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
