Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Pipeline Architect & Builder to design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion and curation pipelines from diverse sources. This role ensures data is standardized, high-quality, and optimized for analytical use while leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline Development
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using Python, SQL, and DBT/Dataform.
- Ensure data quality, standardization, and readiness for analytics.
- End-to-End Integration
- Contribute to seamless development and integration for reliable data flow from source to insight.
- GCP Data Solutions
- Utilize expertise in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions) to build and manage scalable data platforms.
- Data Governance & Security
- Implement governance policies, access controls, and security best practices using GCP’s native features.
- Workflow Orchestration
- Manage data workflows and infrastructure provisioning using Astronomer and Terraform, following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Performance Optimization
- Monitor and optimize pipeline performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaboration & Best Practices
- Work closely with architects, service owners, and cross-functional teams to define design patterns and frameworks.
- Automation & Reliability
- Automate processes to improve reliability, data quality, and operational efficiency.
- Communication & Documentation
- Clearly communicate technical decisions to stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive documentation for processes and systems.
- Continuous Learning
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
- Business Alignment
- Translate business requirements into optimized data asset designs and efficient code.
Required Skills
- Technical: NoSQL, PostgreSQL, Kafka, GCP, Python
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–7 years in Data Engineering or Software Engineering, with 2+ years building and deploying cloud-based data platforms (GCP preferred).
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with GCP services: BigQuery, Dataflow, DataProc.
- Knowledge of SOA, microservices, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools (Terraform, Tekton), and automation frameworks.
- Understanding of data governance, encryption, and masking techniques.
- Ability to monitor and optimize cost and compute resources in GCP.
