Job Description – Printing Press Operator
Wynalda Packaging, formed in 1970, is an industry-leading packaging and folding carton manufacturer located in Belmont, MI. Currently, we are looking for a full-time Sheet-Fed Printing Press Operator to join our team.

One who produces a high quality printed product by using technical and mechanical abilities enhanced by communication and teamwork in order to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Sets up and operates printing press to product by performing the following duties.
This is a 1st shift position Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3pm with overtime as needed.
Starting pay will vary depending on background and experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Review job ticket for pertinent information, special instructions, and to verify the correct ink, stock, and coating have been pulled.
- Hang plates correctly and efficiently.
- Fill ink fountains in each unit according to the units plate color.
- Performs the make-ready process, following the W.P. work instructions.
- Monitor ink and coating fountains.
- Keep feeder full of stock to prevent any unnecessary press shutdowns.
- Help mark printed loads correctly, clearly marking cavity locations of samples and bad product.
- Remove load from delivery.
- Process load tags.
- Performs and ensure all tasks on and around press equipment are done following established safety procedures.
- Contributor of suggestions for improvement to crew members and Supervisor.
- Remove plates and properly dispose of them.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve print related problems such as pressure, settings, tension, irregular ink distributions and web-breaks.
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
- Understand and follow all standard operating and safety procedures.
- Inspects printed sheets visually after registration or position printing and readjusts guides and controls to rectify spacing errors, irregular ink distribution, faulty cuts or folds.
- Provides direction, training and guidance to junior crew members.
- Follows all company safety regulations and encourages safe work habits from other crew members.

- Ability to systematically troubleshoot all equipment
- Good understanding of standard mechanical tools (wrenches, screw drivers, measuring devices, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to read (work instructions, production orders and scheduling reports).
- Ability to be on your feet for an extended period.
- Ability to use hands, arms and wrists.
