1. Be a high school graduate or have a certificate of completion of the General Educational
Development (GED) test.
2. Have completed a Medical Assistant training program through Ross Medical Education Center, Baker College, or other similar entity. Candidates working outside of either the HealthWest Crisis Residential Unit or Muskegon County Jail are required to be a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or obtain certification within 90 days of
hire.
3. Possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Michigan Driver License within 30
days of employment.
4. Must have a reliable transportation that may have to be used to carry out job duties of this
classification.
Preferred but not Required
1. Lived experience with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
2. Individuals in Recovery and individuals with experience in Armed Services valued.
3. Bilingual candidates highly desired.
4. Individuals are encouraged to pursue certification or registration even if working for a team where it is not required.
