Job Description\n\nRequired Certificates and Licenses: Speech-language pathology license issued by the state department of education or state board and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence (ASHA SLP CCC)\n\nResidency Requirements: no requirements\n\nThe Speech-Language Pathologist Contractor is a state certified therapist responsible for screening, assessing, and treating students experiencing communication problems that affect classroom activities, social interaction, literacy and learning. The Speech-Language Pathologist Contractor will focus on students' individual needs as defined by each student's Individualized Education Program. Join us in developing more effective ways to learn and helping learners build the skills and confidence they need to make their way forward in life.\n\nThis is an Independent Consultant position (1099). \n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\n\n * Screen and/or evaluate students with suspected speech-language impairments.\n * Provide case management of speech-only caseload\n * Ensure all speech and language services are provided as determined by the IEP team by:\n\n * Communicating with parents and teachers to develop a schedule that encourages regular attendance and participation by the student\n * Developing progress reports and other state-specific required special education documentation\n * Using provided resources to ensure accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities such as assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text are made available\n * Monitoring assigned speech-language pathology assistant caseload, schedule and services\n\n * Maintain compliance with state, school, and company regulations\n * Instruct students/families/teachers in the use of appropriate communication strategies and technologies for the purpose of minimizing the adverse educational impact of communication disorders and improving student success in the classroom\n * Maintain files and/or records using specified systems, e.g., progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, reports, etc. for the purpose of ensuring the availability of information as required for reference and/or compliance\n * Collect data and work samples to monitor student progress toward Individual Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives\n * Document all contact with parents and interventions with students\n * Provide rich and engaging therapy experiences for students\n * Commitment to personalizing learning for all students\n * Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations\n * Understand that a primary responsibility is to establish and maintain a positive rapport with families and regularly communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner\n * Provide support to student support team (SST)/response to intervention (RTI) processes;\n * Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information\n * Supervisory Responsibilities: May supervise up to 4 Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Speech Language Pathologists in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\n * Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or related field\n * Three (3) years of speech/language work experience within a public-school setting or equivalent combination of education and experience\n * Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 30 hours per week is required.\n * Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9 - 5 as defined by the school and time zone\n * Knowledge regarding Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) due process requirements\n * Ability to conduct and interpret comprehensive speech-language evaluations\n * Ability to provide speech-language therapy services\n * Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to plan and deliver speech-language services to children\n * Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators\n * Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes\n * Ability to create and deliver staff development\n * Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills\n * Strong organizational and time management skills\n * Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms\n * MS365 Proficient\n\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: \n\n * Management experience\n * Online therapy experience\n * Experience with documentation for purposes of Medicaid claiming\n * Experience evaluating and working with students who require alternative and augmentative communication\n\nCompensation & Benefits:Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.\n\n * We anticipate the pay rate to be $55.00 per hour.
