The Michigan Catholic Conference is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (Hybrid) to join their team in Lansing, MI. As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will serve as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning HR strategies with organizational objectives. You will build strong relationships with leaders and employees while driving workforce effectiveness through guidance in workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and HR policies.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on workforce planning, talent management, change management, and employee relations.
- Oversee the hiring process, including recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and employee file management.
- Coach managers on performance issues, conflict resolution, career development, and employee engagement.
- Partner with leaders on succession planning, talent gaps, and performance management processes.
- Support training and development initiatives to strengthen leadership and technical skills.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Collaborate with consultants to develop compensation strategies and ensure competitive pay practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of HR trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
- Lead quarterly HR meetings and partner with internal teams (Benefits, Payroll, Communications, IT) on cross-functional projects.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with 2+ years in a business partner or consultative HR role is strongly preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP designation preferred.
- Practicing Catholic preferred but not required.
- HR management experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work with a high level of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
