Toolmaker Summary
Summary: The Toolmaker is responsible for layout and build of mechanical components used on tooling for an individual project.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a specialist on the mechanical assembly
- Ensure individual tasks are executed in the most effective manner in regard to time, cost and function
- Ensure assigned tooling is completed based on work requirements utilizing drawings, customer specifications and manuals as necessary
- Identify/Diagnose mechanical problems, and recommend adjustments/repair work as necessary
- Provide accurate time reporting for assigned activities through the ERP system
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Toolmaker Journeyman Card or 8+ years machine or tool building experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Able to interpret engineering drawings and successfully layout equipment according to prints
- Familiar with basic Bridgeport operation
- Able to use and read micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Able to MIG/ARC weld as needed
- Team player, able to take direction and be self-directed
- High regard for safety standards
- Knowledge of welding and automated assembly
- Knowledge of Mechanical Standards, tooling assembly & setup
- Strong written and oral communication skills
