Summary
The Surveying and Geospatial Technologies Industry Recruiter position is responsible for providing student recruiting for the Surveying Associate of Applied Science degree and other related geospatial technical degrees and educational pathways at Northwestern Michigan College (NMC). This position is grant-funded with an anticipated end on June 30, 2027. While the status of this position is temporary, there is a possibility that this position may be extended past this date.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (Required)
Computer skills, including knowledge of Internet, email, calendaring software (Required)
Valid Driver’s License (Required)
Personal motor vehicle for use during working hours (Required)
College admissions experience (Preferred)
Experience working with high school and/or college age students (Preferred)
(Critical) Recruitment of students at a state-wide level: from high schools, career tech centers, and other community colleges for enrollment into the survey and geospatial programs at NMC.
(Critical) Coordinate and lead recruitment activities with the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors (MSPS), industry partners, and other organizations with a focus on adult learners.
(Critical) Coordinate joint recruitment pathways with Michigan Technological University, Ferris State University, and other four-year institutions with survey-specific programs.
(Critical) Coordinate and lead an industry recruiting task force made up of key advisory board members and program coordinators to identify recruitment opportunities and industry skill gaps.
(Critical) Identifies prospective students through innovative recruitment (CRM) and networking methods including: attending recruiting events, answering telephone calls, and following up with prospective students through mailings, email communications, social media, and site visits.
(Critical) Support the development of marketing and communication materials for the survey and geospatial programs.
(Critical) Coordinate with the appropriate academic areas to ensure curriculum delivery meets the needs of the students.
(Critical) Coordinate recruiting and engagement efforts as appropriate for the identified degree pathways into professional development and technical training programs.
(Critical) Processes inquiry and preadmission paperwork and works to facilitate progress in the process from inquiry to enrollment.
